Antioxidants

What is Antioxidants..??

Our blood any time carry oxygen to body cells. Oxygen helps cells convert nutrients into energy. Under normal conditions, the molecules inside the cell have a complete electron pair so stable. When in contact with oxygen, molecules that oxidize and lose electrons. Unstable molecules are then transformed into the so-called free radicals. So, free radicals are a natural product of cellular metabolism. Free radicals are as natural as the air we breathe.

Dangerous of free radicals.

As unstable molecules, free radicals are always trying to "steal" electrons to other molecules in the body to make it stable again. It can destroy buildings and structures of the body's cells and change their size and shape. Think of this cell destruction process as a hypergolic iron by oxygen destroy its form.

Damage to these cells in turn adversely affect health. Excess free radicals can trigger and aggravate heart disease, infectious diseases, tumor and cancer, eye diseases (such as cataract and glaucoma), skin diseases (such as allergies and dermatitis), and more and accelerate the aging process.

Normally, the body has a natural defense system to neutralize free radicals that do not grow to be dangerous. However, environmental influences and bad habits such as ultraviolet radiation, pollution, the habit of eating "junk food" and smoking can make the immune system overwhelmed by large amounts of free radicals.

Consuming more antioxidants help the body to neutralize harmful free radicals. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals contribute to "donate" electrons to make it stable. It is estimated there are more than 4,000 compounds in foods that act as antioxidants. The most studied is beta carotene (pro-vitamin A), vitamin C, vitamin E, phenolic acids, selenium, chlorophyll, carotenoids, flavonoids, glutasion, coenzyme Q10, melatonin, and lycopene. It should be noted that vitamin A is not an antioxidant itself. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, spices and tea / green tea is a diet rich in antioxidant properties. For those of you who are busy and do not tend to eat a balanced diet, are now widely available health supplement provides extra antioxidants practically.
